Telford & Wrekin Council set out to increase awareness among residents of the borough about the activities and facilities available to them, particularly the Telford Skills Show.

Objective

The main objective was to address the fact that younger residents typically engage less with the council compared to older generations. The campaign aimed to use strong visual messaging to highlight opportunities that young people might not usually see or hear about through traditional channels.

Campaign approach

Alight delivered an OOH campaign, placing messaging in everyday environments where it could cut through to younger demographics and raise awareness of the event.

Results & highlights

The campaign significantly boosted brand awareness and visibility for the Telford Skills Show. Compared to previous events, turnout was greatly increased, with more young people attending and engaging. This not only helped the council reach its immediate objectives but also supported the long-term success of residents looking to start careers or upskill in their current roles.
