Alight Media has announced a new out-of-home partnership with Blackpool, bringing a new digital portfolio to advertisers. Blackpool is one of the UK’s most famous seaside towns, situated on the Lancashire coast, 40 miles north of Manchester. With a large resident population of nearly 300,000, Blackpool is also a major tourist hotspot, attracting around 18m visitors per year and generating £1.5bn* in visitor spend.
Blackpool joins Alight's national out-of-home portfolio
The partnership between Alight Media and Blackpool will see the installation of 40 x 4K 85 inch digital 6 sheets and 20 bus shelters. This new addition to Alight’s fast-growing portfolio will add an estimated 20m impacts per month** to Alight’s national 6 sheet network.
For the first time, Blackpool’s bus shelters can be planned and bought in line with industry standards, with listings in SPACE, the IMS and Route, aligning with Alight’s commitment to bring new, incremental audiences to advertisers across the UK.
This new partnership is the latest addition to Alight Media’s 6 sheet estate, which already includes contracts with Warrington, Bournemouth, Telford and the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority – comprising Rotherham, Doncaster, Barnsley and Sheffield – one of the biggest street furniture contracts in the UK.
In the latest Route release (June 2023), Alight’s 6 sheet reach was found to be greater than ever with 5.7m adults now seeing Alight’s 6 sheets every month. That’s more than the combined population of nine leading UK cities: Glasgow, Liverpool, Birmingham, Bristol, Manchester, Sheffield, Leeds, Edinburgh and Leicester.

This addition to Alight Media’s 6 Sheet network complements the company’s fast-growing national Digital 48 (D48) portfolio. According to the latest Route release, Alight’s D48 network now reaches 30.8m people every month, becoming the market leader for total D48 audience reach in the UK. Alight also covers more regions with D48s than any other out-of-home (OOH) media owner, as well as more total towns and more unique towns.
In total, Alight Media now delivers over 600m monthly impressions to reach over half of all UK adults (32m), more than media outlets including The Sun, Sky News, Twitter and The Telegraph for monthly audience reach.
